Dhaka, Bangladesh | April 6|2026 — In a vibrant celebration of Bengali culture and tradition, Sheraton Dhaka, in collaboration with The Westin Dhaka, hosted the much-anticipated Borshoboron Mela 2026 to mark Pohela Boishakh, the Bengali New Year.

Held at the Grand Ballroom of Sheraton Dhaka, the day-long event brought together families, children, and culture enthusiasts for an immersive festive experience. Running from noon to evening, the mela showcased a colorful blend of traditional food, cultural activities, games, and entertainment.

Building on the success of last year’s event, which attracted more than 400 guests, this year’s celebration featured an even larger and more diverse lineup. Guests enjoyed a variety of authentic Bengali delicacies, including chotpoti, jhalmuri, pitha, faluda, and traditional drinks like gurer cha. Popular dishes such as panta-ilish, khichuri with beef, and chicken fried rice were also served at the food stalls.

The event offered a wide range of attractions designed for all age groups. Children and families participated in fun-filled activities such as train rides, puppet shows, bioscope viewing, and interactive games like ludo and giant Jenga. Entertainment highlights included a circus show, mascot appearances, and traditional performances like ronoppa.

Competitions added excitement to the celebration, with events such as art contests, fashion shows for kids, biscuit races, and musical chairs drawing enthusiastic participation.

In addition to food and entertainment, the mela featured lifestyle and retail stalls showcasing clothing, handicrafts, jewelry, perfumes, and gift items, creating a festive marketplace atmosphere.
